Need some help. I have qwest as my ISP, my domain is registred through
GoDaddy.com. I have two web based email addresses (one for me and one for
general sales inquiries.) I access my email through Outlook 2003 and I also
have access to my email through my Blackberry.

Settings- All of my settings are correct as per GoDaddy.com TS although it
wasn't untill today that I was told to check the save messages on the server.

Problem- every time I click send/recieve I am getting messages here and
there but in the status bar, I see that Outlook is trying to download 4 of 20
(238KB of 2.63MB) and then it hangs there until finally I get the error
message that it timed out and that I need to contact my ISP.

Fixes to far- I called GoDaddy.com and they assure me that there are no
messages to download. They did increase the size of the box and I followed
their instructions to keep a copy of the email on the server.

Its almosts as if my bb and outlook tried to retrieve a large message at the
same time. The result is it Outlook THINKS there is a message that is out
there and trys to retrieve the message but it isn't there.

Is there a fix? Is there a way to purge the system? If not, I think my only
other solution is to reinstall Outlook 2003. And if I have to reinstall, can
someone point me to some step by step instructions?

Reinstalling won't help with configuration issues.

Which mail account type are we talking about here?
Is your BlackBerry also trying to receive these items or just Outlook?

Sounds like you have a virus scanner installed that integrates with Outlook.
Disable this integration and try again.

It is a POP3 email account. I deleted my bb email accounts and I am still
having the same problem.

I do not think that my virus scanner software is integrated with my Outlook.
It is through BeSafe. It is a McAffee product.

McAffee or not disable your email scanning. On McAffee products you will need to uninstall and then re-install without the email integration(scanning). This issue can happen with any working Virus scanner at any time

After doing the above post back and tell us what happened

Peter,

After spending a number of hours trying to figure out how to re-install
B-Safe software without the email integrating, I decided to just re-install
Office 2003. (Hence my other plea for help on .pst files.) I ended up with
the same results as before and getting my error message.

On a whim I completely turned off my B-Safe software and that resolved the
issue. Now that I located the problem I called B-Safe software and they were
great to walk me through a soluition.

The end result is that B-Safe had to remove the Spam feature from my
services completely. (It was disabled for a separate issue but it was still
causing this latest trauma.)

The problem is resolved but NOW I have to get my .pst file back.

Thanks for the help.

Ben
