Sadly, unchecking (disabling) the email scanning feature in many AV
applications is not enough to eliminate problems once they start. In
general, you should uninstall the application, then do a custom re-install
without any email scanning modules or services. This is mandatory with both
Norton and McAfee; disabling the feature doesn't help, it must be completely
removed.
