I recently tried opening my pst with outlook which didnt go down to well. It
put the pst file as an attachment in an email. I preesed control, alt, delete
to quit out but it appears to have put the email in my deleted items folder
which has rather overloaded my outlook file. It is not allowing me to delete
delete items any tips please?

Can you open that PST file at all?
If you can it might be an idea to create a new profile with a new PST file
via the Mail icon in Control panel.
Then, open the old PST and copy everything over except for Deleted items.
