Hi I had the same problem conecting through NTL
broardband.
I would not reformat yet as i did this and the problem
returned.It took me three months to resolve this prblem.
A tech head mentioned it might be a problem with service
pk 1 for XP. I cannot promise this will work for you!
However it may be worth a try as i know how frustrated
you are, I have uninstalled service service PK 1 and
fingers crossed everything is working fine although i
still do not know why service PK 1 caused the problem or
how i can renstall it without the problem returning.
If you do try this i would be interested to know if it
