Some 16-bit program is trying to start when you boot.

Update your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

Do the same for whatever anti-spyware applications that you have.

If you're still getting the error messages, see what's set to start at boot.

Start | Run | Paste the following line in the box and click OK...

msinfo32 /categories +SWEnvStartupPrograms /report
"%userprofile%\desktop\msinfosp.txt"

I hope that line doesn't wrap.

It did. It should be all one line. There should be one space between
/report and "%userprofile%

I.e. /report "%userprofile%

Find msinfosp.txt on your Desktop and open it.
Scroll down and look for [Startup Programs]
Locate any of the *.exe files and do a Search for them on your machine.

To identify a 16-bit program:
1. Use Windows Explorer to open the folder that contains the program's
executable (.exe) file.
2. Right-click the .exe file, and then click Properties.
3. A 16-bit program does not have a Version tab in this dialog box.

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Thank you. I ran the scans as suggested and the error did not retun but
another error appears that the computer may be at risk because Nortons is
turned off. It is on. Any suggestions?
