I've tried clicking offline and then clicking the file, however, when i open
outlook offline, i get a message saying outlook can access the file. i've
tried deleting it in outlook safe mode. i've tried creating a new pst. help
-- i'm desperate!

Did you Open Outlook when Offline or you just clicked on Work Offline and tried to delete.

You have to be Already Offline when you open Outlook to delete the stuck message

Is Outlook completely closed? Check Task Manager to be sure.

Thanks Peter. Yes, I did click offline, exited Outlook, relaunched outlook,
clicked the outbox (while off line) and it didn't work.

Yes, I saw your reply to someone else on this and I did click task mgr -- and
had completed exited.
