I am trying to capture video using Pinnacle Studio 10 with XPSP2.

I just upgraded from Studio version 9 and Windows 2000. Studio 9 worked
pretty well with Win 2k but when my pc was reimaged with XPSP2, Studio
version 9 stopped working so we purchased the new Studio v10. Now I am faced
with a new set of problems are.

The device will not capture video. So I went to Pinnacle Tech Support. he
suggested I opent he manual capture tool and if that doesn't work then there
is a problem in the MS side of things. They said I should go to MS and see
KB885222. The KB articles says to download an update for XP. So I did. The
article then says to go to the Reg Editor and modify. I follow the directions
explicitly and this is the path I should use:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\1394_hc_hw_id\1394_instance_id\Device
Parameters. Well I get as far as PCI and then there is no 1394_.... It's just
simply not there and I don't know what to make of it.

I opened the device manager and I see the 1394 IEEE Host Controller (Texas
Instruments OHCI Compliant) and I also see the Image Device (Canon DV
Camcorder). I do not know how to get the correct key in the registry so that
I can edit it. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank
you.

Have you checked this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;904412

Does it seem to apply to your problem???

If Yes, here is where you get it:

Thank you Yves, I thought it did address my problem and maybe it did but i
still have the issue. And the issue really is that I cannot capture video
with Studio 10.1 and XPSP2. No one at either Pinnacle or MS seems to know how
to rememdy the issue. I am just waiting. Any other ideas? Thanks for your
help.
