I believe I might have corrupted my native drivers for
windows xp 1394 ieee driver. Does anybody know how to
reload them from my xp disk or how to fix it at all?

Try removing the the device from Device Manager and reboot, It should
redetect and ask what you'd like to do (use available drivers or have disk)

Using Device Manager, select 1394 and indicate you want to "update the
driver"

WHen you indicate "install from a specific" Location, it should provide you
both versions the Microsoft provided and the ones you have installed by your
1394 provider. Pick the Microsoft provided drivers.
