OK Microsoft, since you reportedly read these postings I have a comment.

Nobody responded to a previous post I had regarding a different error, so I
decided to try again. Running the Defender install program last week errored
out again ("1316 Network") so I waited a week and tried again today. I was
able to install this program by saving the installation routine on my PC
instead of running it directly from the MS web site. So far I am not having
any problems with it.

You may also want to know that I cannot recover the Antispyware Beta 1
program via the Restore Point utility in Windows XP Pro when this
installation craps out. I use Norton Ghost to back out of bad installations
when it is required.

Hi Engel.

Thanks for responding. I sincerely appreciate it. So far I haven't had to
back out of Defender and go back to Beta 1. I was also able to upgrade today
to version 1051 with no problems. I think that Defender is a significant
improvement over Beta 1.
