I've just got a Western Digital 120gig HD and XPhome
shows it as 38. File system: NTFS.

Anyone?

Did you Check the following:

1>Check your jumper settings (CLJ or AC jumper setting
will limit the drives full capacity)or do you need a BIOS
update?..
a> Did you Format the drive??
2> Did you install XP Serive Pack 1? Microsoft recommends
doing this before install or right after.
3> You may need an Ultra ATA PCI adapter card w/a 48-bit
LBA compliant BIOS & controller driver..
4> check www.intel.com/support/chipsets for an Intel
Application Accelerator if that applies.
These are a few resources. You could go to the Western
Digital site for troubleshooting information.

Before getting a PCI adapter, upgrade the computer's motherboard BIOS.
This may bring in 48bit LBA support.

Second: Intel Application Accelerator is ONLY for Intel chipsets. There
was never a mention of which motherboard/chipset they were using with the
120GB hard drive.

And also this app has nothing to do with large drive support, it would gain him absolutely zilch.

Thank you all for your help.
I did a little more research and it was the partition on
the HD. I had set it for 38g and left the rest
unallocated. Hey, what can I say, I am a noob. Thanks
again.
