A THOUSAND dollars later and two weeks looking for the wizard and I'm about
to flip out.
I have bought the office professional, Visual Tools 2003, Visual Basic .Net
standard and I have installed them in the right order but I can't find the
wizard.

Please, any help will be appreciated.

If you have correctly installed Visual Studio Tools for Office 2003, this
should have created a start menu option somewhere called "Microsoft Office
Access Developer Extensions", which will lead you to "Package Wizard".

Thank you for your reply Baz,

I wonder if this is the right order;
1. Microsoft Office 2003 Professional
2. Microsoft Visual Basic .NET Standard
3. Visual tools for Office

Thank you for you advice,

V.

From what I see you installed, none of those above include the ms-access
devleoper exntsitons.

Obtain and deploy the Access 2003 runtime
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ac...208861033.aspx

<quote>
Access 2003 Developer Extensions Note that you do not have to purchase
Visual Studio or Visual Studio .NET in order to package and distribute
Access applications using the Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the
Microsoft Office System.
</quote>

You ONLY need to purchase VSTO (visual studio tools for office). And, you
ONLY need to install the disk with the ms-access developer extensions on it,
not install a whole bunch of other stuff. Visual studio does NOT need to be
installed.

You can get VSTO here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/pr...o/default.aspx

Note that for access 2007, the developer extensions and tools will be a free
download.
So, if you have access 2000, 2002, or 2003, you ca upgrade it to a2007 for
$109, and that will include the developer tools. Note that the developer
extensions are NOT yet available (they should be available quite soon).

So, I not sure why you installing visual studio, but I not seen any
information anywhere that says installing visual studio gives you the
ms-access developer extensions?

Tony has a good faq here:
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/deve...onversions.htm

Another way to get the a2003 developer extensions is to have a MSDN
subscription, and ONLY a universal one.....

You don't need VB.Net.

Albert,

You have a great website. Very informative. I actually have been reading it
for the last two years. Unfortunately, I overlooked what you say in the
webpage about not needing .net but the installation VSTO disk (only one disk,
Is it only one disk?) popped up a message box during installation asking me
for Visual Basic .NET in order to continue with the installation.

I believe I might not have the right VSTO ( on the CD it says Visual Studio
Tools for the Microsoft Office System Version 2003 (only one disk about $499).
Once installed then the subdirectory under Programs is structure like this;

Program Files > Visual Studio Tools for Office > Office Project
and also
Program Files > Visual Studio Tools for Office > Wizards

So, I'm confused you say that I don't have ADE in any of the softwares I
mentioned but yet apparently it is inside the VSTO CD. Am I right ?

Thank you,

V.

I don't see any ADE.

Where did you get Visual Studio 2003 Tools for Office? It couldn't have been
from Microsoft, since all they sell now is Visual Studio 2005 Tools for
Office.

It's my understanding that there was more than 1 version of Visual Studio
2003 Tools for Office, and that only one version included the Access
Developer Extensions (which is where the runtime comes from).

resale the software I don't need? how?

Thank you again,
V.
