something is wrong with my computer when ever i start up
it starts runnin at 100% cpu ussage ive tried a virus
scan but it finds no viruses if u can help please reply

the process is called updatmg.exe but when i stop it it
starts up again

This is the second post about "updatmg.exe" that I've seen in the past week
or so, but Google knows nothing about it. Google gets only 2 hits - and one
of them is the post that I saw and responded to on 4/12/04. I have nothing
to add to what I posted then. :>(

I've had the same perception as R. C. White. Are you 100% positive that it
says updatmg.exe? It's not updating.exe? "in" and "m" look pretty
similar...

its updatmg.exe the weird thing i just realized is that
in only runs at 100% when im offline but when i get
online it runs normally

This process sounds a bit suspicious. It's probably running at 100% while
you're offline, because it's in a constant loop of attempting to do
something during the time you're offline. I'd kill the process and see if
you notice anything happen. Then, find where the file exists and look at
the properties of it. Is there a company name associated with it? What's
the file date? Is it something recent? What directory is it in?
