When i start up cmd.exe the window pops up and freezes for 10 seconds. No
CPU peak or hdd access.

I have admin rights and uac is disabled.

I installed and uninstalled Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications (SUA) and
corresponding tools before. Maybe this affected it somehow....

Very annoying.
Anything known about it?

Hi Jim,

On some Vista installs the whole system gets slower if UAC is disbled, I
read something about this several weeks ago, I will get back to you if I can
find the source!

CKO--

Try running sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt.

Good luck,
