1 win2k server, 1 winxp client - server disconnects

I have a single win2k server running AD in native mode. I also have a
single winxp client. Everything worked like a champ until a few days ago.
Now, when I map a drive to the server from the client, it connects, then is
dropped after a period of time and won't re-connect. When I put Sniffer Pro
4.5 on the server, I get the following under the Sessions section of the
Expert:

IP NETBIOS SESSION REJECTION IP NETBIOS (ssn)
[192.1681.1.]-[192.168.1.101] Port 139-1598
IP NETBIOS SESSION REJECTION IP NETBIOS (ssn)
[192.1681.1.]-[192.168.1.101] Port 139-1599
IP NETBIOS SESSION REJECTION IP NETBIOS (ssn)
[192.1681.1.]-[192.168.1.101] Port 139-1600
IP NETBIOS SESSION REJECTION IP NETBIOS (ssn)
[192.1681.1.]-[192.168.1.101] Port 139-1601
IP NETBIOS SESSION REJECTION IP NETBIOS (ssn)
[192.1681.1.]-[192.168.1.101] Port 139-1602
IP NETBIOS SESSION REJECTION IP NETBIOS (ssn)
[192.1681.1.]-[192.168.1.101] Port 139-1603

And continues this, attempting on port 139-16xx trying to get on a different
port. If I browse the domain from Explorer, I receive a "Domain is not
accessible. You might noth have permission to use this network resource.
Contact the administrator... Windows cannot find the network path. Verify
that the network path is correct and the destination computer is not busy or
turned off. If windows ... contact the administrator." Issuing a 'net
view' from a DOS box on the client generates a System error 51. Browsing
from the server works fine as does a 'net view'.

I have no firewall software installed on either the server or the client.

Client is WinXP SP1, I use Norton AV ver. 10 for XP, PestPatrol, Adsgone
4.2.6 build 16, Tweak-XP Popup Blocker/Ad Blocker. It is a P-III 900, 1GB
RAM, Intel Pro/100+ NIC, Adaptec 29160 Ultra160 with 2-WD 9GB 10K Ultra3.
Server is Win2K Server, SP4, P-III 866, 512 MB RAM, 3Com 3C905B-TX, Promise
FastTrak TX2 with 2-30GB and 2-60GB mirrored drive pairs. No web services
installed, only MS Proxy 2.0. MS DNS is running with forwarders to my ISP;
client only points to the server for DNS, no WINS and Norton AV 7.0.
Both are hooked to a Linksys WRT55AG wireless router/firewall with 100
Full-duplex connections and both have all the security patches and hotfixes
installed. Both run a full virus scan nightly and the client scans for and
deletes spyware nightly.

The client joined the AD several months ago and the user is a domain
account, not a local machine account. Like I said, this just started a few
days ago. A re-boot of the server seems to take care of it but this is
annoying as I use 2-60GB mirrored drives on the server for data storage and
only have 9GB available on the client.

Any ideas or help?
