1 email account, 2 computers

I have been using Outlook at home to view my business email account.
Today I set up a new computer at my store using the same email
configuration. I'm ready to delete the account from my home computer
but what will happen to all those messages that I need to save? How
can I access them from my store computer?

Thanks!

Before deleting that e-mail account on your home computer (just to make sure)
you have to back-up your Personal Folders (*.pst files). To do this go to
File > Data File Management and on the Outlook Data Files window you'll see
your Personal Folders, click Open Folder and it will open the folder where
your Personal Folders is stored.

To back-it up burn the *.PST file onto a CD or store it on a external media
(external hard drive, pen drives, etc). After storing the *.PST file onto an
external media bring it to your business computer and store it on a folder.
On the same window (Outlook Data Files) click add then select the appropriate
file format click ok and browse for your PST file.

Use File/ImportExport/Export to a file/personal file .pst/select personal
folder/save it somewhere (you choose). Put it onto disk or such and use the
same function keys in reverse to download the messages onto your new pc.

Do you people NEVER read anything in these groups? Do NOT USE THE
IMPORT/EXPORT FUNCTION for native Outlook data.

Any copy of the OL data File *must* be done with OL closed.

Storeing the burnt OL data file in the default location will likely
overwrite the existing data file, leading to a corrupt data file.
Locate the data file in, eg My Documents, then in OL, File>Open>Data
File.....browse to location.

Then you have been extremely lucky. Firstly there is absolutely no need to
use the import/export function at all. Just copy the pst file and open it.
Secondly, the import/export function is primarily designed to move data to
and from non-Outlook applications such as Excel or Access. All the MVPs in
here recommend NOT using the function if you are transferring data between
Outlook installations.

Try http://www.synchpst.com/ which synchronizes between 2 PST-files.
