I'm trying to create an annual handbook for a club. I'm using 8 1/2 x 11
paper in Landscape mode. It will be printed on both sides and folded in the
middle to create the handbook. I'd like to put a watermark on each page
which would take up half a sheet. Can anyone help me with this? All I've
been able to do is create a watermark that covers the whole page. Thank you,
drc

First recognize that a 'watermark' is nothing more than a graphic that is
anchored in the header
(http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/AnchorToHeader.htm), faded, and sent
behind the text. The Watermark dialog makes it easier to create that, but
it's straightforward to do it with just the picture tools.

Use the Watermark dialog to create the first (whole page) watermark. Then
open the Header pane, which will let you click to select the watermark
object. Resize it to fit on a half page and drag it to the middle of one of
the half pages. Copy that, paste to get a second copy, and drag the copy to
the other half page.

A watermark is nothing more or less than a washed-out graphic anchored to
the header. You could easily create two watermarks on a page, but you don't
need to in this instance. Use "Book fold" to set up your document, and the
watermark will appear on every page (which will be half a sheet).
