0x8024400a what is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can some one please help me with this. When i installed the windows defender
everything went fine, how ever after the insallization i try to update the
definitions and it doesnt do anything. it just says error 0x8024400a. I have
tryed to disable my firewall and antivirus, and tryed to reinstall, and
nothing helps.

I am having the same problem too, and I cant seem to see anything here for a
fix, can anyone help?

I too am having the same issue... I have removed everything and disabled
firewall... The only hitch is maybe because I am running Windows Media Center?

Please try updating via WindowsUpdate.

Did you get an error message from those steps?

What happened when you went to Windows Update? Is Windows Update working
properly for other updates?

After installing Windows Defender I also got the 0x802440a error when trying
to update it.

I was lucky enough to find this info to resolve the problem.

Just run Windows update and select "custom". You will see the update for
Defender in the choices to download. Update and reboot and all works well.

should come that way.
