After hours of searching for a solution to the server not
being found or unexpectedly terminated and the above
error message reference being received, deleting
profiles, checking ports and ISP server settings I
finally found that Symantec Norton Anti-virus 2004 was to
blame!
Having disabled 'email checking' in Antivirus 2004,
Outlook now works fine.
Hope this cuts out some searching for some of you!
Symantec, meanwhile will be getting an email very soon
about email checking as this was one of the primary
reasons for purchasing Antivirus 2004 in the first place!
