I recently upgraded from Microsoft Antispyware to Windows Defender. I run
Windows XPsp2. When I go to Tools>Software Explorer>Startup Programs, I get
an error message 0x8007065d-data supplied is of wrong type. In the Windows
Defender window, it shows "Error loading view". I have since uninstalled and
reinstalled the program, but received the same error.

I get a problem in the same area Tools>Software Explorer but I can't get any
further as the error message "0x80070057: The Parameter Is Incorrect". I too
have uninstalled and re-installed. Mark, are you using IE7Beta 2 as that is
something I am currently trying and wondered if you were on the same setup?

Hi Dave,

I was initially running IE7beta 2, I have uninstalled it and gone back to
IE6 to see if that made a difference. It did not--I still got the same error
when I was back on IE6. Let me know if you run across a fix!
