I get this error code periodically when I try to receive e-mail using outlook
2003. I am running xp home. The problem is frustrating b/c my e-mail works
for several days without a hitch, then will not send or receive for several
days (my current problem is that I cannot receive e-mail). I have tried
disabling e-mail scanning on NOrton antivirus and also disabling auto
protect. Neither step seems to help. I also tried raising my timeout value
on the advanced tab of my e-mail properties page, doesn't seem to help. What
is this error message and how do I get rid of this problem once and for all?

Disable spam alerts on Norton - seems to be working for me. see the threads
