I've tried using the scanpst.exe. Got some messages back, but when I went to
delete messages, lost eveything in the INBOX, even INBOX does not appear on
screen. Full message reads: c:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Local
Settings\application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Personal Folders(1).pst

How do I retreive or correct box?

When I try going to each loctaion starting with my c: drive, when I get to
Local Settings, it is not found on my computer. I also tried doing a
"search" but did not find it that way either. Did a search in the very
beginning to locate *.pst files, but they did not show up even then.
HELP!!!!!

Are the system files hidden as they are by default? Are you including
hidden files in your search?

Basically, with that error, scanpst is probably going to be the solution.
You may have to run it multiple times.

If you do regain access to this .pst file, copy what you want to a new .pst.

How do I make "unhind" the files?

How do I copy to a new .pst file?
