Can anyone tell me if its possible to do a manually mapping of username and
security ID? Windows Defender seems to have trouble to do it in Windows 2000
Pro in other languages than english. GDI+ was manually installed before
installing Beta(2).
I have tried Beta and Beta(2) and no one of them seems to work ok. Is there
the same problem with Win XP too?
I'm interested to know how to handle these problems before I try WD on my
other PC too.

How old is your downloaded file? Revisions were made to the download around
February 22nd to fix problems installing on non-English versions of Windows.

If you have installed on non-English windows from the older download, the
advice is to uninstall, then reinstall from the newer download.
Users of English windows need do nothing.

The version of the program did not change, but the way that the installer
worked did.

I don't have a good answer--or even a clear idea of what the error message
would read in English--about this error, I'm afraid.

By the way I download this at 12:10 am of 03/022006 (today)
I really do'nt know what this error means... I made everything correctly...
download the fix to solve the gdi problem, downloaded the new version to
solve de 1609 problem... and now I just can't start my windows defender just
because appear the error

Application failed to initialize: 0x80010534. Não foi feito o mapeamento
entre os nomes de conta e as identificações de segurança.

Trying to translate: It didn't do the map between the account names and
security identifiers....

...........

So my windows defender has thenew version that fixes those bugs on
instalation, but it can't initialize the program after instalation, even if I
go to the archives of the program !!!!!!!!!

Thanks-- I think that I understand the message now, but it doesn't help me
figure out a workaround for the issue, unfortunately.

Hi Bill.
Which file do you meen? Is it WD(Beta 2) or GDI+ file?
WD was downloaded after 22 of february but the GDI+ file is dated 2004/05/06
version 5.50.4134.600. GDI+ was installed after your mentioned date.
I've recently uninstalled W.D. because of a never ending update loop.
Regards from Lasseman in Sweden.
