0x000000CA: PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR

I was downloading WinXP Pro Updates when it crashed. They
only way of getting the system to boot was to do a full
restore (reload using recovery disk).

When starting a full install at the end of formatting the
disk I get the following blue screen stop message:

PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR

STOP 0x000000CA (0x00000001, 0x82323368, 0x8235C7BB,
0x00000000)

I've tried re-installing severall times with the same
error.

Can anyone provide any advice?
