Hi,
Just a general question, I've noticed that Outlook 2007 has a tendency of
running slow is there a fix out there for it or
is it just 07?
Again very general!
Thanks Craig

Any more details?
What functionality exactly is "slow" for you and how long does the wait
take?

Hey Roady,
Thanks for the response, right now I've got Outlook 07 on an XP Pro machine
in an Exchange 2003 enviroment.
When I click on the Outlook icon on my desktop it takes 10-15 seconds, when
I try to open an email to
read it it takes 10-15 seconds to pull up the email. I just upgraded from
Outlook 2003 and that ran fine no hesitation. I know 10 - 15 seconds isn't
bad but I just came from 2003 opening immediately to a long hesitation. I do
have a few other 2007's in the domain and they seem to respond fine, for
now
Thanks for your time, Craig

I also forgot, when I'm creating an email and keying in letters there is a
long delay for the
letters to show up.

Hi Craig,

The performance issues may be caused by one or more of the following:
o Large Personal Folders files (.pst) or Offline Folder files (.ost)
o Third-party add-ins
o Gadgets that are installed in Windows Vista
o Microsoft Office Communicator integration
o Antivirus software interaction
o Windows Desktop Search indexing
o Minimal computer specifications
o Incomplete closure of .pst files or .ost files
o POP3 accounts on Windows Vista clients
o Many Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds

If Outlook 2007 runs slowly, please refer to the detail steps on the following KB article.

940226 How to troubleshoot performance issues in Outlook 2007
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;940226

If anything is unclear or if you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Emily Lin

Emily

I too am suffereng from a slow outlook 2007 on vista
a support person for a crm co. said that for my hardware, hp 6715b
laptop with 2gb mem and 2ghz dc cpu, in his experience outlook should
be working much better

I tried http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933493/, even tho my pst is
only 1.2gb, (it was .8gb on my 2003/xp pc)
amazingly, in my present config with nothing else running it took
3mins to backup this file

I've got uac working, + spybot + avg av
i've tried to tame the file indexing etc, but am in unchartered
territory

Any ideas of what to do?

Regards

David M Wicker
but when I ran the update, I got a message to the effect that the
expected file was not there
