PC Review have teamed up with Trend Micro Anti Virus to offer a free online virus scan to your PC, without any time or trial limitations. The very first time you view run the virus scanner, you will need to install the free add-on for Internet Explorer to your PC. We strongly recommend installing an anti-virus package to keep your PC protected, as it will protect your PC real-time.

How to use HouseCall:

1. If this is your first time using HouseCall, expect to wait several minutes while the scanner loads. This time will vary depending on your modem speed and will be shorter the next time you visit. When HouseCall finishes loading in the window above, you will see a list of the disk drives on your computer.
2. Click on My Computer .
3. Click the SCAN button to start.
   

1. To use HouseCall, you will need either
   • Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 4.0 or above) or 
   • Netscape Navigator (version 3.01 or above).
2. If HouseCall does not work correctly on your PC for any reason, please download a free 30-day trial version of PC-cillin, Trend Micro's antivirus solution for home PC users.

If HouseCall finds a virus:

1. If HouseCall finds a virus on your PC, it means that your current antivirus solution is not working properly.
2. When HouseCall finds a virus, it will list the name of the virus as well as the name of the infected file. Click on the virus name to learn more about it.
3. Click on the "Clean" button to remove the virus. 
4. Certain viruses, such as Trojans, scripts, overwriting viruses, and joke programs which are identified as "uncleanable", should simply be deleted.
5. You should ideally have a resident virus scanner to protect your computer. This would protect your PC in the background, without the need for an in depth virus scan.
